Senior Support Worker - Residential Childcare (EBD)

Pay: £16/hour (£29,120 per year)
Hours: 35/week including long days and sleep-ins
Sleep-in Allowance: £50 per shift
 
I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a client seeking a dedicated Senior Support Worker to join their children's residential home supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).
 
The Role Includes:
 
·Leading care shifts and supervising team members
·Acting as the responsible staff member during incidents and on-call
·Delivering consistent, safe care that supports each child's wellbeing
·Managing records, petty cash, and ensuring policy compliance
·Helping children access healthcare, education, and positive activities
·Maintaining a clean and homely environment
·Liaising with external professionals and families
·Contributing to training, supervisions, and appraisals
 
Shift Pattern:
 
·Long shifts (15hrs), short shifts (8hrs), average 35hrs/week
·Includes weekend and bank holiday working
·Sleep-in shifts (11pm-8am) on a rota basis, paid at £50
 
Candidate Profile:
 
·Experienced in residential childcare (essential)
·NVQ Level 3 (or working towards)
·Full UK driving licence
·Confident leader, clear communicator, emotionally resilient
