Assistant Quantity Surveyor - We are working with a leading Groundworks and Civil Engineering company, completing projects across a number of industries including housing, commercial, utilities, and agriculture.
Based on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds, this client is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team as they expand. You will join a team of experienced individuals who will support and guide you in your development.
Your role:
- Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets and tender documents.
- Supporting the management of subcontractor packages and valuations.
- Liaising with contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
- Conducting site visits and liaising with site teams to ensure accurate cost control.
- Monitoring project progress and providing regular financial reports.
- Tracking payments received and then chasing those that are late.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in groundwork or civil engineering.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- A degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or a related field (or working towards).
Offer:
- Salary £40k per annum.
- Monday - Friday.
- 8:00am- 17:00pm.
